The 16-cylinder mid-engine racing car, first released in 1934 by Auto Union was improved in many aspects for the 1935 season. The engine with an increased capacity of 5 litres had a Hirth crankshaft mounted on roller bearings for the first time. The output increased from 295 bhp to 375 bhp at 4,800 rpm. Rear torsion bar suspension, an elongated wheelbase and the typical short exhaust stacks were further features of the second generation Auto Union Silver Arrows. The miniature is a detailed reproduction of the original.
